You’re Welcome Gina!

October 15, 2009

I was happy to discover a comment left by a recent patient of mine.

Gina was referred by a friend, and I helped her retrieve a lost file. It was great meeting her and seeing her artwork. She is very talented, and I hope to see her work online one of these days when she has time to make a website.

Here’s what Gina had to say…

i seriously cannot thank you enough for finding my file — 8 weeks worth of notes that would be really hard to get back — almost 70 pages!!
the computer guys at school couldn’t figure it out and told me it’d cost upwards of a grand to locate my file. then joe told me you may be able to help, but i already gave up.
then you came to berkeley, gave me all this software and found my file. you are amazing, but most of all i was really touched by your kindness and attitude towards life. i hope the world is populated with more jorel’s.

You’re Welcome Mya Rose!

April 9, 2009

As I mentioned, I recently created a site called “Alpha Nerd“. To show her support, my girl decided to leave me a testimonial.

I can’t necessarily call myself a computer wizard. I bought my first computer blindly, ended up spending about 3,000 for a dell which I added all these features i had no idea to use. Until one day, my computer was slow, pop-ups everywhere, to top that my McAfee virus scan thing expired so that opened up more windows for viruses.

Just by seconds on my computer, you already surprised me by putting all my pictures in a program i had no idea existed. This was the day i learned PICASA! I had most of my pictures scattered in different folders, and if i wanted to view them I’d have to open each one.

Soon after I grew an attraction to editing software for pictures and video. I wanted to get a new computer since the one i had was so outdated.

I had no idea where to start. After all the first time i bought a computer I ended up spending triple the amount i should have spent since the main reason why i bought it was to surf the web and do homework.

This time i knew i had some things in mind. I wanted something light, sleek, and could have capabilities of editing software and video. I purchased my first MACBOOK. LIke all the PC girls, i was hesitant. I refused to want to learn something new. Boy was i wrong. Once you go mac, YOU NEVER GO BACK!!!!

Using a Mac was unbelievably easy that my 3 year old daughter can use to play her online games on Nick Jr and PBS kids. I decided to go back to the computer doctor.

He set up EVERYTHING on my computer. From email, book marks, to all my music and pictures and files. Everything that was on my dell was transferred to my Mac. Even as a bonus, he created a separate account for my daughter that had tabs at the top with links to her favorite websites like DORA, Diego, and Disney.

THAT WAS TWO YEARS AGO! Til now, i’ve managed to switch to Mac Desktop. He set up my internet network, printer settings, and even my webpage for my business!!!!

All this for no cost! NO COST AT ALL. Who does that these days. To repay my gratitude I’ve referred customers to him who have also shared my enthusiasm in their newly awaken computers.

I’d have to say that hands down, without you… i’d be lost technically in this world. Jorel, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU..for your continuous support in all my computer problems, for your time and effort you put into personalizing my tools in order to attain my goals!!!! You truly have a GIFT and it’s amazing how many people you’ve helped.

I am in debt to you!

You’re Welcome Wanda!

September 4, 2008

Here’s a thank you email I received from Wanda. I’ve only met her once at my girl’s old work. My girl said she had a Florist business, and I asked if she had a website but she didn’t. I was in the mood to create a website, so I was able to create one for her using the info from her business card and brochure.

Jorel,

Screammmmm! Screammmm! Screammmm! Thank you, so much for taking the time to help me with my website. It looks so nice and professional. I am excited about the future. For someone, who has been hiding behind medical billing tasks in little cubicles for years, and now starting to step out on faith with my floral business, the blessing are overtaking me. Calls are coming in for my floral services and you are helping me to go to the next level. Thank you so much. I will gather pictures for the website and make suggestions as I gain more understanding from you and Jasmine. I do want my domain as soon as possible, if only to perserve it for now. Let me know what you need.

I’ll keep watching my email and my sample website. (softer screamm)

You’re Welcome Bolo!

September 4, 2008

This thank you message was from my old abandoned blog.

i had a desktop pc that was totally crashed. it wouldn’t even start my microsoft windows application anymore. i was so bummed out because i relied on this pc all the time and used it for work and pleasure. well, i had a buddy of mine check it out and he’s pretty good with computers. after all said and done, the computer needed a new harddrive and would roughly cost me $400 to repair, including losing all my files. i just gave up and started using my laptop. i left my desktop to collect dust for more than 8 months.

one of my good friends jaz came along one day and said her man arneil, aka “ozz” is really good at fixing computers and would be happy to check it out. although i gave up on the desktop months ago, a spark came up in my mind and for some reason i was ok with the fact that i’d keep my hopes high one more time and let him try it out. eh, what the heck.. it was his hobby and it’d keep him busy!

it turned out that he seemed as excited about it as i did, but i still had a doubt in my mind that nobody, and i mean.. nobody.. can fix it. after they came to visit me all the way accross the bay, they took my desktop and off they went. well, just like how my cars take forever in bodyshops, i had the same mindset, assuming to just wait so long about the pc and forget about it.. cus it’d probably take him months.

well, to make a longer story shorter, ozz backed up all my files and saved each and every one of them. i’m talking files as far as old memorable phots, old school songs, funny videos, private personal files, work files, etc. i mean, this friend of mine saved it all! he did admit that it my pc desktop was quite a challenge. i mean, c’mon, it was possessed! it would just shut off during a download or during a test he was performing. well, unlucky me needed a.. yup, a new harddrive. =(..

as i later went accross the bay to pick it up, he turned it on for me and.. what do u know.. he replaced my harddrive absolutely for free! not only were all my files still there as i mentioned before, the programs to run those files were upgraded! ozz installed new programs to make my “new” pc run smoothly and faster. it’s virus free! it worked so well, i couldn’t believe my eyes. i brought it home and i spent the whole rest of the week looking at old files, laughing and bringing back memories.

so i would like to thank you AGAIN, mr. arneil “ozz”. i am a happy customer and the word about you is out there and spreading. thanks!

You’re Welcome Lea!

September 4, 2008

I decided to post any thank you messages I get from people I help with my free computer services.

Here’s the first from Lea. I met her when I was helping my cousin move, and she mentioned she had this laptop collecting dust for months because she forgot the password. She let me take the laptop home, and I clean installed it for her. Now she uses it for her job hunting.
