I got an email from Opti asking if there was a forum dedicated to polyphasic sleep (transcript below). I checked out the ones listed in the polyphasic sleep wiki, but they seem to be abandoned or not entirely dedicated to polyphasic sleep.
So today, I’d like to announce the shiny new Polyphasic Sleep Forum.
I spent several hours yesterday and today trying to find the perfect forum solution. I started with the usual suspects phpBB, Vanilla, and bbPress. I did some test installations of those on my server, and I love that they are open source. However, the developers don’t have a hosted version which would save me the hassle of using my own server.
It feels very modern and sign up was very easy. The only major annoyances are that it has adsense on it, and it is not open source. It’s a good temporary solution for now, but I’ll be moving to bbPress once those guys from Automattic have it available as a hosted solution like they did with WordPress.
Open Source + Hosted Solution Provided by Developers = Longevity of the Project

Great to hear from you. I’ll be sure to re-add your blog once you start polyphasic sleeping again.
I checked out the past forums listed here:
However, most of the forums are abandoned. There was one that was active, but it was dedicated to lucid dreaming with polyphasic sleep as a subtopic.
So I started up a new forum dedicated to just polyphasic sleep here:
Also, I did create a polyphasic meebo chat room awhile ago. A link to the logs can be found here:
Thanks for your suggestions!

You replied to my blog http://opti-sleepless.blogspot.com but I hadn’t checked it for a while until now. I unfortunately ended that run of polyphasic sleep, but I am planning to start up in about a week and a half. It is going to be especially hard this time since I am away from most of my friends that would stay up with me so any extra support or information from other “polyphasers” would be very useful to me. I believe I will be even more successful this time since I won’t have constant parties getting in the way of naps and I am now living on my own so I don’t have to worry about leaving at odd hours of the night.
Those feeds look like they can be useful, but do you know if there is a forum or something more like that anywhere dedicated to polyphasic sleep? I usually do better communicating with people on forums and I think that would be a lot of help because if nothing else it would provide people to talk to at odd hours of the night. Or a chat irc or chat room would also be nice. Just spitting out ideas here.
Thank you for your comment and when I return to polyphasic sleep (starting the friday after this one) I will start updating the same blog I used the first time.
